Even if you’ve never heard of Z-CoiL Pain Relief Footwear, you will want to meet Al Gallegos, the man behind the shoes that are changing the lives of people all over America. The innovative mind and persistent spirit of this 84-year-old runner led to the creation of a brand and a company that launched the Pain Relief Footwear industry, with sales going strong even in these tough economic times. That’s because Americans, more than ever, need footwear that enables them to stay on their feet longer, with far less pain and fatigue at the end of the day.
What makes Z-CoiL shoes so unique? Like shock absorbers for the body, Z-CoiL footwear features a patented steel coil in the heel and thick padding at the forefoot, which cushion the shock of impact by up to 50 percent compared to conventional shoes, and return 40 to 50 percent of your energy, reducing fatigue. A built-in orthotic protects and supports the foot, distributing pressure evenly across the bottom of the foot and improving your posture. You stand straighter and feel less pain from the ground up.
The Z-CoiL Spring was designed to give maximum shock absorption to the body within a short 1 1/4" distance. The coils on Z-CoiL® footwear are made of a high carbon steel known as "piano wire." Tests of two million full compressions of these coils resulted in a loss of less than one percent in height and strength. The coils come in four sizes that correspond to the overall size of the coil and to the diameter of the wire they are made from. The sizes are: small (6.2mm), medium (6.5mm), large (7.2mm), and extra large (7.5mm.)
Coil assemblies are made of three parts: the steel coil, the rubber outsole – also known as the heel pad – and the Z-Nut. The Z-Nut is mounted at the top of the coil and serves the dual purposes of mounting the coil to the orthotic and allowing the coil to be locked in to any of four positions.
Z-CoiL® coils are cone shaped because this shape greatly enhance their performance. A cylindrical coil stacks on itself when it is fully compressed and is much more unstable.
A conical coil, on the other hand, collapses straight down when it is compressed and is much more resistant to tipping. The conical coil can even be compressed to fully flat and beyond.
Z-CoiL footwear comes in a wide variety of styles to suit every lifestyle—even a new dress style for women! Experience the difference for yourself and meet the man who held fast to his dream and made it a reality. Some even call it a miracle shoe!
